Did Da Vinci invent the Bolzidore?

Date: 04-Mar-1934   Time: 10:00:00

Some three months have now passed since the sensation of the presentation of this revolutionary new machine took place. We are, of course, referring to the Bolzidore, the life changing wonder that was brought to us by the Wright Brothers. In all silence and secrecy, in a totally discrete brick warehouse at Sloppy Corner, they had worked for years to get things done, and now, the world is in a whirl. We ourselves, we plan to become the first official Bolzidore dealers in town, within a couple of weeks! Stay tuned.

But was it really the Wright Brothers who were the first to have this brilliant thought of the Bolzidore principle? These three months have been a madhouse, throughout the entire world. Everybody has been exclusively talking Bolzidore. It's Bolzidore here, Bolzidore there, Bolzidore from top till toe.

A scientific international team named "The Jolly Investigators" with archeologists and historists, operating around Florence, Italy, has once more opened the cupboards in the house where Leonardo Da Vinci lived, during his years in Florence. They did a baffling discovery. There was a design, still pretty much intact, which never had been noticed before. In it, there were some of Da Vinci's devices, and most noticeable ... an apparatus without doubt having contours similar to the Wright Brothers invention !

Conspirator theories are already popping up in the Social Networks (note for future readers: as you know, Social Networking in the year 1934 goes through telephone and telegrams usage). Such as the Wright Brothers secretly having visited Florence in the past, and finding the design. This is hardly consistent with what we know about their financial situation in the years that they worked on their Bolzidore prototype, and before that.

It seems more likely that the saying once more proves to be true: if you have a brilliant idea, always someone else has had it before as well. Just like airplanes and submarines, Da Vinci probably had the same patterns of thinking in his mind.
